Louisiana Sportsman Show signs 3-year contract
Show to stay at Lamar-Dixon Expo Center
Ascension Parish officials signed a three-year contract to keep the Louisiana Sportsman Show at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.
Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez and the facility’s manager Flo Magee were on hand for the signing of the three-year deal with the show’s parent company, Louisiana Publishing.
The contract represents a huge economic boon for the parish, promising to attract tens of thousands of people to Lamar-Dixon — and, in turn, increase revenue potential for surrounding businesses and the parish.
“We’ve all approached this as an economic development tool for the parish,” Louisiana Sportsman Show coordinator Jack Fisher said. “We are the largest outdoor show in Louisiana and Mississippi, and only the Lamar-Dixon Center has the space to allow us to grow the show as we have planned.”
Next year’s show is set for March 13-17, and will feature plenty of family oriented activities including the Splash Dogs, a 3-D archery trailer, a 50-foot bass tank, and loads of deals from the region’s hunting and fishing retailers.
The 2013 lineup also will feature the new Boats, Bikes and RVs Show to run concurrent with the Louisiana Sportsman Show.
