Wilde, Morse take OLOL Bass Classic

Jaylon Wilde and Blake Morse put an impressive 19.14 pounds of bass on the scales Saturday to win the 2012 Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Bass Classic, easily outdistancing second-place finishers Jeffrey Lemoine Jr. and Keith Plaisance, who weighed in 16.38 pounds.

The first-place finish earned Wilde and Morse $5,000, plus the $655 they pocketed for boating the biggest bass of the tournament, a 5.08-pounder.

The event was open to all public waterways in Louisiana, with anglers allowed to check in at six sites in South Louisiana. Official weigh-in was at the St. James Boat Club.

According to Danny Fields with the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, 139 boats participated in the 12th annual event.
