Lake Bruin drawdown scheduled for fall

Lake Bruin will be lowered to 4 ½ feet below pool stage beginning Sept. 6, and will remain lowered through Dec. 15, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced today (June 21).

The drawdown is being conducted to allow managers to replace a disabled water control structure, to help control vegetation in the Brushy Lake area, to improve fisheries and to allow homeowners to conduct shoreline and property maintenance.

All homeowners are advised to take appropriate preparatory measures, as boat access into the lake will be limited.
