Blount, Anderson win online deer-photo grand prizes

Mason Blount and Jeffrey Anderson have been declared the Nikon Deer of the Year and Trail Cam contests’ grand prize winners by LouisianaSportsman.com users, and will take home the big prizes and bragging rights.

Users chose from monthly winners in each contest to determine these grand-prize winners.

Blount, whose father is known as JD Man on the reports forum, easily took the Nikon Deer of the Year Contest with 77 percent of the votes cast.

The image, shows young Blount with his first kill, a great 8-point killed in Livingston Parish. Blount will receive a pair of Nikon Monarch ATB 10×42 binoculars and a $25 gift coupon to the Sportsman Outdoor store.

In second was Frank Morrow (morrow630), while Kate Savant (bowhunter71) ended up in third. In fourth was Matthew Leerkes (kamakazi1).

The Trail Cam Contest was a closer competition, but in the end Jeffery Anderson (vetdrjeff) took the grand prize with 44 percent of the votes cast. His image shows a doe seemingly sticking its tongue out in an apparent taunt.

Anderson will receive a Moultrie Game Spy D-55 trail cam valued at $99 and a $25 gift coupon to the Sportsman Outdoor Store.

Josh Harrell (buckdown) took second, Darius Scott (extremehuntr1) ended up in third, and Michael Fourcade (Michael64) and Brooke Lastrapes (blazer9) tied for fourth. In fifth was Darren Matherne (hornhunter60).

The latest online photo competition is the Big Bass Contest, which will provide anglers opportunities to brag about their catches and compete for monthly prizes.

“The only catch is that only registered users of LouisianaSportsman.com are eligible for the prizes, so don’t forget to register today,” the site’s Andy Crawford said. “And then load up the pictures of those big bass to the contest page.”
