Peason Ridge W.M.A. closed for hunting, Ft. Polk may have limited areas open Oct. 30-31

Due to military training exercises, the Peason Ridge Wildlife Management Area will be closed Oct. 30-31 for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries either-sex hunt. However, Ft. Polk WMA may be open in limited areas for either-sex hunt this weekend.

LDWF previously announced that all of Ft. Polk WMA would be closed for this upcoming weekend hunt, but has now received word from the U.S. Army that training might not take up the entire WMA and there could be limited areas open to either-sex hunting.

Hunters will have to check with local officials or check station maps immediately prior to the hunt to determine what, if any areas are open for either sex hunting on the Fort Polk WMA.
