Second closure of the day announced, shutting down more fishing along eastern bank of Mississippi River

After shutting down fishing in a huge swath of the marshes east of the Mississippi River, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officials announced a second closure just after 5:30 p.m. today (July 5) that stopped angling north of Main Pass near Venice eastward to Pointe a la Hache.

The latest action closes all inside waters east of the Mississippi River north of the eastern shore of Main Pass and south of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet from the double rig line westward to the eastern shore of the Mississippi River and north along 89 degrees 42 minutes 32 seconds west longitude near the western shore of the twin pipeline canals.
