Pearl River W.M.A. Hwy. 11 entrance to be periodically closed due to bridge construction

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will periodically close the U.S. Hwy. 11 gate that provides vehicle access to the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in St. Tammany Parish for the next two weeks due to ongoing bridge repairs.

The gate will be closed each day from 3:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. starting on Monday, May 18 until Thursday, May 21 and again from Monday, May 25 until Thursday, May 28. The gate will be open on these days from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pearl River WMA users entering via Highway 11 must exit the entrance prior to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday to avoid being locked in. Pearl River WMA users are also reminded to expect delays when using the roadways during ongoing repairs.

There are no big or small game hunting seasons currently open within Pearl River WMA.
