Massive 820-pound hog goes down in Alabama front yard

Giant dropped with three shots from a .38-caliber handgun

Wade Seago’s pet Schnauzer, Cruiser, is nothing if not brave.

The little dog bayed a massive 820-pound wild hog in Seago’s front yard last week in Samson, Ala., keeping the big pig occupied long enough for Seago to squeeze off three rounds from his .38-caliber handgun and take the beast down.

“Cruiser had this huge hog confused with all of the barking and movement,” Seago told WHNT 19 News. “It was not a good situation.”

Seago wound up bringing the big hog to drive-through scales at a nearby peanut company, where it weighed-in at 820 pounds with 6-inch tusks.

Samson is located near Dothan in southeast Alabama, just north of the Florida panhandle.

Hunters on private land in Alabama can kill all the feral hogs they want, and Seago had no regrets about dispatching the monster.

“I didn’t think twice about taking this hog down,” he said. “I’d do it again tomorrow.”
