Finally a day where the winds were slack and the trout were ready at daybreak to find the bottom of our ice chest. Today was day 2 with the INOLECT crew in Grand Isle. Joining me today were Meril, John, and Ray. The guys love to fish but don't get to do it much so today was a real treat. With bait crashing all around we started with live shrimp under a cork but quickly switched over to double rigs. The color early was avocado but as the bite slowed the trout favored glow/chartruese. Worked a few areas after the morning bite slowed down to put a great box of trout. We added a red and a flounder as langiappe. The story of the day was when Ray put his pole down and a trout ripped it into the water. Luckily he was fishing with a cork as the trout showed up 40 yards away. We tracked the cork down and surprisingly we got the pole back along with the trout. If the weatherman is correct we should get 2 more days of nice weather. Pray for once he is right!! Thanks Capt. Marty for setting up the trip as we are having the blast fishing in the morning and hanging out at the camp until Shaun (aka Team Softy) whips up his magic in the kitchen and then it all falls silent.
