Deer of the Year
With deer season under way, there’s no better way to track your season than to post photos of your kills on the Nikon Deer of the Year Contest, for which you also can be eligible to win great prizes.

Prizes will be awarded monthly to the best photo from that month as determined by LouisianaSportsman.com staff. Each monthly winner will receive a Sportsman Gear prize package and a Louisiana Sportsman magazine subscription.

Monthly winners will qualify for a user voting session at the end of the season, during which our users will choose the LouisianaSportsman.com Nikon Deer of the Year. The winner will receive a prize package to be announced.

The rules are simple:

• Take a picture of you with a deer killed during the 2010-11 season.
• Upload the photo to the Nikon Deer of the Year photo gallery.
• Be a registered user of LouisianaSportsman.com.
• Write a short account of your hunt during the posting process.

So enter today, but remember you must be a registered user to be eligible for the great prize packages.

When Filming Press Record
 I am blessed enough to be able to hunt all over the country for a variety of animals. Well this past year I decided I needed to try and start filming my hunts so I can come home and show my friends and family these incredible experiences. To make a long story short I was in a ladder with a good friend recording the hunt when this guy came out at 60 yards and my friend forgot to hit the record button. I guess there is always next year!
